A number of practices were mentioned by other schools' representatives at the OSR regional meeting:
At WVU, a formal system of castigation is in place to reprimand faculty who do not give students halfway feedback during a clerkship.
Through an Early Concern Program at Texas A&M, a student can voice their concern about another student's unprofessional behavior through the humanism department, completely independently of any academic offices, evaluators, or the Dean.
A similar "no red-tape" program has been elaborated by health system or campus clergy in Alabama (?).
Another student-only initiative at U South Georgia allows peers to add adjectives (diligent, courteous, curious, rude, pompous, cutthroat, etc.) to a saved password-protected list for each student so that the student may be aware of others' perceptions of her/him before hitting the wards / drafting of the dean's letter.
Defining professionalism appears to be a challenge across all insitutions.
