Purpose. This place is meant to be a spur for dialogue on our education. You are absolutely encouraged to voice your opinions. Reply to existing questions or raise entirely new ones.

Registration & Usernames. You are a free being. So you can create any username you wish. However, please enter your UVA email address into your user profile and be sure to check the box "Show Email Address." This will allow others to send you emails through the message board. It will also secure your account, because non-UVA users will be systematically purged from the board. Don't worry about others actually seeing your email address; no users can.

Anonymity. In most forums you can post without logging in. When you do this, the author of the post appears as "Guest." Note, however, that Guests cannot participate in polls, even though it is a secret ballot. Sometimes, Guests may be unable to upload or download files.

Bitching policy. No bitching. The goal here is to generate constructive thought, not negativity.

Where to post. If you have a course or clerkship-specific issue, raise it in that forum. If you have a pan-curricular issue, or a question about some subject matter that spans multiple courses, raise it in one of the SMEC forums. If you believe that a new forum is required to properly contextualize the dialogue you seek to elaborate, just say so. An admin will listen.
