i disagree. the exams we get are a good combination between boards prep and what we actually need to know for clinical years and beyond. the subject material we are asked to learn is very appropriate, but not perfect, for usmle prep; the holes in material can at least be overcome by 2-3 weeks of studying s/p finals. we do very well on most of the major subjects like path/pharm/micro, and it's random subcategories like nutrition or distant courses like anatomy where we are relatively weak.
